Submit News and NotesFountain of Life Men's Group will host a family picnic for the entire congregation on June 22nd at Kernersville Lake Park. We have the shelter reserved that afternoon until 8:00PM and will eat around 6:00PM. The evening will close with a worship service at 7:00PM. We will provide chicken, BBQ, paper products, drinks, ice and bread and we ask each family to bring a side dish. We will play horseshoes, volley ball, bocce ball, badminton etc. Also, we will sit around under the shade trees and enjoy the God's wonderful surroundings. As a SPECIAL treat, we will have a fishing contest for all the kids. A trophy will be awarded for the largest fish in age group 1-4, 5-7, 8-10 and 11 and above. This will run from 2:00PM-4:00PM and our special guest, the great grandfather of Nemo will be the judge. Please sign up, by June 15th, on the sheet located in the fellowship hall and note each child, along with age, if they will be in the fishing contest.
Bill Kapfer Scholarship The Bill Kapfer Scholarship Committee from the Men's Group will have the College Scholarship applications forms available in the Fellowship Hall on April 13. These forms must be completed and dropped off in the "Bill Kapfer Scholarship" box no later than June 1, 2008. The Scholarship Committee will evaluate the applications after the June 1st deadline and select those candidates that meet the committee requirements for college scholarship assistance. Milestone Ministry

High School Graduation: A Milestone for Seniors! This milestone is a time for the graduate, family, and congregation to be very intentional about continued faith connections. As members of The Fountain commit to new ways to help graduates and families staying in touch with faith traditions (and with the Church), the congregation is encouraged to contribute to a fun-filled laundry bag for our four (4) graduates. Feel free to drop off practical and handy dorm room items in the laundry bag in Fellowship Hall by May 30th to be given to our graduates on Sunday, June 1st. Some practical items include: plastic ware, egg crate, instant coffee, hangers, rolls of quarters for washing clothes, shoe rack, over the door towel rack, bed risers, fun pillow case, dictionary, address book, notebook, pencils, pens, binder, Lutheran Book of Prayer, 1G flash drive, devotional book, gift cards. Baptism Dates We need your baptism date! Look at the baptism birthday chart in the Fellowship Hall to see if your baptism birthday is on record. If you have not given us your date, please fill out the Baptism Date sheet at the Information Center.

Vineyard Tour Fifty and Beyond Group will be heading to Shelton Vineyards in Dobson, NC on May 22nd. They will be touring the winery and tasting the different wines. Bowling League at Countyside Lanes, 1005 Masten Drive in Kernersville is forming. It will start on Tuesday, June 10 at 6:15 pm and is10-12 weeks long. Fishing Trip Men's Group is holding 3 cabins on Great Island at Cape Lookout for our Fall Fishing Trip. The 3 cabins will sleep 28 men -- so the first 28 to respond back -- gets a spot held!!!!. The cabins are rustic --- with each wired for a generator (we can take or rent one) --hot water, propane over/stove combo and bath. We would leave on Saturday, Nov 8th and return on Monday, November 10th. The rental cost per person per night would be roughly $15.00. Recycling The Men's Group will be taking on an additional fund raising project that will benefit us all!!! We have aligned ourselves with a recycling company that will take all our used electronic products. Many items will be taken. Contact: Ray Adams at 996-0227.

Ladies Book Club Summer is almost here and now is the time to get ready! Healthful, helpful hints for living are included in this month’s reading. Please join us as we look for ways to improve and enhance our choices for healthy living. The book for June is You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for Extending your Warranty by Drs. Roizen and Oz. Book discussion will be held Friday, June 13, 6PM at Barbara DeFossett’s home.
Women of Faith Conference This year’s conference theme is Infinite Grace and will be held in Greensboro, NC. Dates are Friday, October 31-Saturday November 1. Cost will be $75 which includes the conference and a box lunch on Saturday. Enjoy some fellowship time with other ladies of our congregation as well as other denominations. Build a friendship with someone new and have an amazingly uplifting weekend. Luci Swindoll, Patsy Clairmont and Sandi Patty are just a few of the speakers that you will hear. Youth Ministry
9-12th 60s Theme Party We didn’t have a lot of peeps there on Mother’s Day, so we’ll do the 60s this week. Freedom, love and peace. Make sure to pull out the bell bottoms for this party. Bandanas and peasant dresses work too! We’ll celebrate the wonder that was the 60s decade. We’ll talk about what love really is, we’ll spend some time figuring out how to love each other better, and we’ll have a whole lot of fun doing it! Please bring a snack!
7-8th Are Family! Today is the day that we talk about our Family. How do we treat our family? How do we love our brothers and sisters in Christ. Remember to bring $3-5 for lunch! See you then!
End of the Year Celebration! All youth 5-12 grade are invited to celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of the summer out at Civitan Park from 5-8 pm. Please join us for a fun barbeque, games and some “campfire” activities. Gene Vance will be providing music for us and the park will provide the ambiance. Don’t miss this fun party at the park!
Summer Camp
Camp We are now enrolling for Summer Camp 2008. We offer 7, 3-day sessions on Tues, Wed and Thurs from 9am-12pm. The program is open to children ages 1-8. The cost is $45 per session. Running the Race Sign up today for Running the Race! Fountain of Life will be racing against St. John’s Lutheran Church in WS. Who will “run” the farthest in 11 weeks? This exercise program begins June 8. Because this is a race, only members and regular worshippers at Fountain of Life will be able to participate. All types of exercise can be logged as miles so everyone can help! Sign up and all information is available today in the fellowship hall. Plan to attend the kick off at Salem Lake on June 8 at 2:00!
